FAMILY TREE

(BY KEN HARRIMAN)

I'm sorting out my Family tree, and many Ancestors I've found

From ancestor Fred who Died in Bed

in a married Lady's House.

Her Husband burst in and ran him through

with a very pointed sword.

And the only words Fred was supposed to have said was 'Oops! that's sharp m'lord'

Then there was ancestor Dan

Who Sailed the Seven Seas and ended his life in a bit of strife.

Dangling from Tyburns Trees.

He had a Black Flag as his mark of trade,

and helped himself to Gold, that was being carried by other ships

that they kept locked up in the hold.

Ancestor Ed, he wasn't right in the Head, Really , a bit of a clot.

He got mixed up with a chap called Guy

who tried to blow up Parliament-King and that lot.

They hanged him in chains from a Gallows, Near Tower of London 'tis said.

And they buried bits of him here and there,

the last bit on a Heath near Hampstead.

Now Ancestor Tom, it wasn't long before he met his demise.

He made a balloon he hoped would fly to the moon,

But it burst and fell out of the skies.

They Buried him in a hole in the ground

Somewhere on Salisbury Plain.

But one things for sure, never no more

would Tom fly in a Balloon again

Great Great Great Grandad Joe refused to go

to fight old Bonaparte, he sid it was not a nice thing to do,

and it wasn't in his heart.

To shoot to kill his fellow man, who did to him no harm.

So they  hanged him from the nearest tree,

and from this life he did depart.

Now be you careful when seeking Ancestors from the distant years,

You may find one like my ancestor John,Who Cut off peoples ears,

on orders from the wicked Lord, when they could not pay the rent

But He was last seen,  weighted, tied and Trussed up

sinking  in a  Marsh in Kent

Not all my kin folk were disgraceful rogues,

One was Heaven Bent, with Pious thoughts of Purple robes

and Heavenly Bodies sent.

But the Bodies  sought by Bishop Paul

were young and attractive too, until he was caught by the Popes personal Guard.

Now he is excommunicado.

When searching for your ain folk,

be careful of what you find, ftor some were rogues and vagabonds,

and yet some were very kind.

But once again I say 'Wth Care' you are on very shaky ground,

as some of the Ancients that you seek, may very well still be around.

A rattle in the kitchen-- when you know there 's no one there!

or that Creaky-squeaky sound of that loose board on the stair.

The Mis -laid Pen you know you had put on the shelf.

Did not get into the bedroom un-aided and onto your pillow by itself....

Be wary of what you say, when you think no-one is near.

Your ancestors listen to all you say, that is very clear.

So be you kind and generous, never say or do a wicked thing

'cos you'll be an ancestor eventually, and about you they may sing,

That you were the one who was locked away and they threw away the key.

And youi'll end up in a 'Special Home' in a Straight Jacket, Raving----  Just Like me.

Aaaaaah!!!!  Ha! Ha! Ha! He! He!, They're  coming to take me away Ha! Ha! He! He!
